I love to travel. I am an airline Captain and have been in aviation for over 30 years. I has lived in three different countries and speak two languages fluently (but can get by in four). My wife was a Flight Attendant for a past President and is even better travelled than I.
I am a firm believer that French Polynesia is literally “Paradise on Earth!” The acacia’s stretch across the volcanic mountains, creating a beautiful thin veil of green over the landscape. Manta rays, crystal clear water, and all the tropical fish of the best private aquariums are found within the motu’s of this pristine creation of nature. An overwater bungalow away from the commercial din is the way to experience Paradise with your love. So, what’s the difference between French Polynesia and Hawaii? Well, the number of people that visit Hawaii in a month is the number of people that visit French Polynesia in a year.
Next in my MUST visit list is a return to Africa. “I was surprised to find Africa to be such a spiritual experience.” What a wonder it is to see exotic storybook animals from our childhood running free through a field in plain view from the highway! That was day one in Nairobi as we made our way to the baby elephant rescue orphanage founded and run by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. And yes, we adopt a rescued baby elephant every year! I love to dive, dine, and drink pina coladas on the beach while listening to the waves and letting nature fill my soul.
We are headed to Croatia next year with friends. A bit of sailing, a bit of land touring, and as much culture, laughter, and memories as we can absorb.
